Cody Huckabay
Cody Huckabay came to MISD in the fall of 2000 as the first head coach when Mansfield ISD added swimming and diving as a varsity sport. He held the position of Head High School Coach until 2006 when took on the role of Natatorium Director, and Head Coach of MISD’s USA Swimming club team with the opening of the MISD Natatorium.
Coach Huckabay is entering his 25th year in education with stops in Pampa, Longview Pine Tree, and Richland High Schools before finding a home in MISD for the past 17 years. In his time at MISD Coach Huckabay has coached 4 UIL State Champions, 33 High School All-Americans, and 3 qualifiers to the USA Swimming Olympic Trials.
Coach Huckabay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Texas Tech University. He holds lifetime teaching certifications in Physical Education, Government, and is a certified Director of Aquatics through the National Aquatic Management School.
Coach Huckabay and his wife Angelia have two sons; Mitchell (24) who is an assistant baseball coach at LSU Shreveport, and Christopher (19) who is a college student.
